Welcoming Gavin Edward Holt!!
Well sorry it has taken me so long to let you all know about Gavin's arrival. Thanks to Mandy she did at least let everyone know that he has arrived. Gavin was born on December 12, 2008 at 8:46 AM. Kevin, my mom and I went to the hospital on Thursday night around midnight, after Kevin and I had attended his work party earlier that evening. Upon arriving to the hospital I was already 3 1/2 centimeters dialated and Gavin was well on his way. Once I recieved the epidural I was great and we all got some rest before the big arrival. Thank you all for your prayers everything went very smoothly and we know are blessed with a beautiful baby boy. He was 8lbs 15.4 ounces and 22 inches long, a big and healthy boy.
Since being home from the hospital Gavin is eating and sleeping lots. Kevin and I have been blessed by having lots of family around to help us adjust to having a little one around. My mom has been a huge help in early morning Gavin time allowing Kevin and I a solid couple hours of sleep before starting the day. And now we are getting ready to enjoy Christmas with both of our families in town and our new bundle of joy. Yah! What a wonderful Christmas present.
Below you will see some pictures of Gavin in his first week of life. I hope you all enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas!

40 Week Checkup
The 9th was the big day, but Gavin somehow did not get the message. Apparently he is quite comfortable in there. I went for another visit to the doctor today, and unfortunately have not made any progress. I am still dialated at 2 centimeters, and my stomach is measuring between 38 and 39 centimeters. Gavin just keeps growing in there, but is just not ready to come out. If he does not make an appearance before Monday I will be induced on Tuesday. As for now that is all the news.

Gavin's Room
This past weekend when Mandy was here visiting she helped me with this little project for Gavin's room. I just wanted to thank Mandy again for all the tedious hours of painting the frames, arranging and rearranging, and then meticulously measuring and leveling the pictures on the wall. THANK YOU so much Mandy. And here are a few pictures of our handiwork.

39 Week Checkup
So today we have some good news, progess! Lets start with the basics, first things first; somehow my over the long weekend while we all ate way too much, including me, I lost one pound. Nothing to worry about really just funny. And the really exciting news, I am now at 1 centimeter and an 80th, so basically 2 centimeters. Yah!! My doctor said that we could have a little by the weekend, so we shall see.

Thanksgiving Weekend
Well the Thanksgiving weekend started off for us with a little concert. Kevin and I got the chance to go see Cold Play, Kevin's all-time favorite groups. We had a wonderful evening and the concert was amazing. And the best part was we had great seats, that had an aisle on the left side, also the stage side, that allowed us to sit and enjoy the concert most of the night, perfect for a 9 month pregnant woman.

Shortly after we made it home from the concert Mandy and Jake arrived for the weekend. Thursday morning Kevin went and joined some friends from church to partake in a game of football, while the rest of us enjoyed a little relaxing. We spent the day at the Schell's, some friends from Kevin and I's sunday school class. We had a wonderful time with friends and family eating way too much food, and enjoying Kevin's first ever bbq dr. pepper turkey. Which I have to say was the talk of Thanksgiving and everyone loved it, it lived up to its expectations.

The rest of the weekend consisted of relaxing, a little shopping, golfing for the boys, preparing Gavin's room, an old western town, Glendale Glitters Specatacular, a new pizza joint, oh and what would Thanksgiving weekend be without ringing in the new year with some "Elf" and "Home Alone."

The Rocking Chair
Last week we were blessed with the gift of a beautiful rocking chair. On Thursday Aunt Kathy and I went shopping for a rocking chair for Gavin's room. Our first stop which ended up being our last stop was "Rocker World." Who knew such a place existed, but they only carried rocking chairs and gliders. We spent several hours in the store trying out every chair. I had no idea there were quite so many options: rocking, gliding, locking, fabric, leather, reclining, mission, plush, large, medium, small. But with the help of Aunt Kathy and Kevin we were able to pick out the perfect chair. Thanks to Aunt Kathy and Uncle Paul, Gavin and I look forward to spending many relaxing hours in our new rocking chair.
