Carving Pumpkins

On Wednesday night last week, once Auntie Mandy arrived, we carved our pumpkins.  Gavin was very excited at the thought of carving pumpkins!
Deciding what face to carve.
Audra telling Auntie Mandy what to draw.
And I helped pull out all the guts.
Audra then wanted her turn to scoop out the guts.

Gavin however was not into touching or even looking at the pumpkin.
The kiddos with their finished products!

Its a tricky thing to get both of them to look and smile at the same time!
And then we ate our caramel apples from the night before!
That was all Gavin was really concerned about all night!  Not carving the pumpkin, just the apples!

the Pumpkin Party

This morning we had a couple friends from Faith Forward over for a little pumpkin party.  The kiddos got all dressed up in the costumes and played and decorated their pumpkins.  They had a lot of fun, painting and glittering, and covering their pumpkins with stickers and pipecleaners!  Gavin was so sad when everyone had to leave he actually cried, silly boy.  And here are a few pictures of all the fun.

Family Project Night

Kevin & I have been working really hard to be more intentional with our family time.  So in the evening we have been turning the tv off and doing fun family activities instead.  Tonight was family project night.  We had 2 fun projects, one is a project that I have been meaning to finish for quite some time and the other is a fun holiday treat.

First we started with the project I have not got around to finishing since early August, but tonight the kiddos helped me get it all done.
The kids love to paint, so tonight we painted clothespins for my frame wall.

One very happy painter!

Their hard work!
And my finished frame wall!
Then we started our 2nd project: CARAMEL APPLES!  Gavin is very into doing "projects", that is why everything is referred to as a project.  Gavin helped me take all the wrappers off the caramels.
While Audra was busy eating everything in sight.

Once I got the caramels all melted and on the apples Daddy helped the kiddos roll them in the candy!

And then we put the apples in the fridge for tomorrow.  I then cut up an apple and the let them dip it in the leftover caramel!
They were quite happy dipping!
Audra helped herself!
And was very happy, don't let the face fool you, she was clapping and quite excited.
And made quite a mess of herself.
And then finished the evening with a little cleaning in the sink!
It was a very fun and productive family night!

Here we go again, pictures from the week from my phone!

Audra has been quite into blowing bubbles from her spit this week!  Very strange I know!  She's a funny girl for sure.
Tuesday we had lunch with some friends at Chick'fil'a!  Gavin's favorite.  And with his "best friend"(he just started using this terminology this weekend), Baylor.  And Audra found herself some ketchup to eat once the chicken was all gone.
And the best part is they played so hard that they wore themselves out.  But she still made sure to not let go of the balloon!
One night they were enjoying playing outside in the dirt.  They were so disgusting that they had to have a bath before dinner!
A sneak peak fo Audra's halloween costume!
The kiddos were trying on Kevin's shoes!  It was pretty funny.
And we enjoyed some painting this week too.
On Thursday we went to playgroup at the church and Audra discovered the dressup clothes.  Well actually she discovered the jewelry.  She loved this necklace and bracelet and didn't let go fo them the entire time.
Gavin worked on lots of baseball.
On Saturday we started our day with sprinkle donuts before heading to the pumpkin patch.  Audra quite enjoyed the donut I think.
Gavin made sure he stayed hydrated at the pumpkin patch.

Oh and Gavin has been waiting all week for last night.  We had dinner with a friend of Kevin's that he used to work with at the Diamondbacks and his wife.  Well he was bringing us a jersey for Gavin for his halloween costume.  And Gavin had been waiting and talking about our dinner and his jersey all week!  Needless to say he was quite thrilled upon its arrival and hasn't taken it off since!  And of course Gavin wanted to be a Diamondbacks baseball player for halloween, sneak peak of his costume!
I hope you all had a wonderful week.
