Easter

So we are a little behind on blogging and putting pictures up, but I will do my best to catch you up on what has been going on in our lives, it will however take a couple of posts.

So to start off here we have Easter. . .

We had a wonderful Easter spent with friends and family. Kevin's parents were in town to celebrate the holiday with us so we got up and had breakfast at Mimi's Cafe before church. After church we headed over to our friends house the Schells for a BBQ. Gavin thoroughly enjoyed playing catch with Brady, their dog. We then headed home where we attempted Gavin's first egg hunt. I do not think he really caught on to the idea, it was too much work to get the candy out of the eggs. He did discover that if you throw the eggs they split open and candy comes pouring out, that was more fun than actually hunting for eggs. And here are all the pictures.

As you can see by the mess on Gavin's face, he loved the candy.
Getting frustrated that he cannot get the egg open.
The egg hunting was not exciting enough, but playing basketball with the orange was so much more fun.
Discovering there was candy inside the eggs.

Several of the eggswere sports balls, which really threw him off, he just wanted to throw them.

Sorry these are totally out of order, but more egg hunting.
Playing catch with Brady.
Gavin would throw the ball and Brady would catch it and then Gavin would cheer and clap. It was quite funny. It was entertainment for everyone.

His favorite toy discovery at the Schell was a fake ipod. He loved it.

To decorate eggs or not?

I debated whether it was going to be more of a chore to clean or if it would be fun for Gavin to decorate eggs this year. Well I think that he did enjoy himself, but we did also have quite a mess. Thankfully we only gave him the yellow, less color pigment, and less staining to be had. He did manage to spill almost immediately, but I think he did enjoy himself, even if he just enjoyed standing at the counter more than actually playing with the egg. The biggest challenge with Gavin was he wanted to use his hands to pick up the egg out of the cup and then drop it back in the cup, thankfully he had already spilled so there was not much liquid in the cup anymore. What fun memories for Gavin's first egg coloring experience. (Well I think he actually was present when we decorated last year, but could not really participate).

The spill. And oh the tears and screams.
This was before we actually got started. My boys doing what they do best, Gavin oblivious to me taking pictures and my wonderful husband.

A week with Uncle Cam & Grammy

This past week I haven't done much blogging because we had some visitors. We had a very fun week with Grammy & Uncle Cam. They were very helpful in getting us packed, but we also made plenty of time for fun.
One night Kevin & Cam got the chance to go to the Suns vs the Blazers basketball game thanks to Aunt Kathy & Uncle Paul. I hear they had a wonderful time.
Uncle Cam spent lots of time chasing after all the balls Gavin was busy throwing.
Lots of digging in the rocks.

And driving in the car.
Playing at the park and more chasing after the ball and some keep away from Gavin.

Kicking the ball.

On Saturday we went with our friends from church to a spring training baseball game, and watched the Dbacks play the Mariners. Gavin enjoyed dads sandwhich more than his own.
As you can see we sat in the lawn, which worked best for Gavin because he enjoyed running around.

He also enjoyed a little baseball of his own, although he was throwing the bat instead of the ball.

As you can see, it was a task to keep the hat on the head, he did not want to leave it on. It's obviously more fun to take it on and off.
We also had the chance to go by what will hopefully soon be our new home. This is Gavin enjoying our new backyard.

Gavin was also enjoying the wonderfully sunny weather this week, with lots of time spent outside.
And drumming.
Drumming . . .
And more drumming.

Lots of shooting hoops.
We also spent some time at the park.

And attempted to go to the pool, but couldn't find the key, so we just played outside instead.
And Gavin enjoyed lots of shoulder rides from Uncle Cam.
Some Bible study time.
Ready for the pool.
And lots of fun time with Uncle Cam and Grammy.
