Friday Gavin got to experience the zoo for the very first time. Our friends Devon & Sophia joined us for a fun morning at the Phoenix Zoo. At first Gavin was not so into the zoo, seeing the animals, he was more interested in Sophia and all the people walking by. But after he got the chance to get out and play at the play area he was ready to go. Gavin however found the green truck, which you will see pictures of down below and could have stayed there the entire day. He loved that thing. At one point I tried to move him over to where Sophia was climbing and going down the slide, but he was completely not interested and walked back over to the green truck. We then went to the petting zoo area where they had goats. At first Gavin was a little hesitant, but then he just took off and was not afraid at all. He would walk right up to them and start patting them, or his favorite pulling their ears, for some reason, he liked their ears. These last couple pictures were in front of the petting zoo area where they had this cow that the kiddos could pretend to milk and water would come out. Gavin thought it was quite entertaining to watch everyone try to milk the cows, and in the first picture you can see him thinking about attempting it himself. For the most part I'm not sure that he saw most of the animals, but he did see the ducks and the lions. The lions were sleeping but he was pointing at them. Devon and I were making lions noises trying to get Gavin and Sophia to copy and eventually they kind of were. It was very cute. I would say for Gavin's first trip to the zoo it was quite a successful day.
