Insta Friday

Well this has been a crazy week in the Holt household.  We have spent most of this week laying around at home because the kiddos have taken their turns being sick!  Lovely I know.

Over the weekend we enjoyed a lovely dinner outside.  The weather over the weekend was beautiful, so we took advantage.  Gavin has been missing daddy a lot lately.  This picture was taken one evening while he was waiting for daddy to get home, trying to be very patient, but he was quite sad.  Hadley always has amazingly wonderful smiles for us and Audra is always her goofy self.
On Friday we went to the Train Park in Scottsdale with some friends.  A friend of mine that I grew up going to church with just moved down here to Phoenix with her family.  She has a son Orland who is just 2 weeks younger than Gavin and a little girl, Noelia a couple months younger than Audra.  Gavin and Orland have been quite enjoying each others company.  It's very cute how they are just such great buddies.  They just met a couple weeks ago, but really hit it off.  The kiddos had a great time playing at the Train Park.  We had a picnic lunch, rode the train and then the kiddos played on the play ground.  We are very thankful for our new friends.  Gavin prays for Orland quite frequently.
On Saturday, it was Uncle Cam's birthday, so the kiddos sang Happy Birthday.  At least Hadley is always looking at the camera and almost always smiling.
Hadley enjoyed some snuggles with daddy in the evening before bed.  On Monday and Tuesday Gavin was quite sick.  He has an awful cold, but it really has worn him out.  Only one other time in Gavin's life have I seen him so still.  He never sits still and several times throughout the 2 days he fell asleep on the couch!  What!  Crazy I know.
Tuesday was Valentine's Day so we started the day with heart shaped eggs and blackberry scones!
Some snuggles on the couch in the morning, before heading out to have lunch with daddy.  As you can see we still aren't feeling very well, but we still had a very fun lunch with daddy.  And enjoyed the beautiful sunshine.
Again Gavin fell asleep in my lap!?!  And we had a heart shaped bbq chicken pizza for dinner with Auntie Mandy.  Gavin was very cute, the day before we were finishing up his valentine's and talking about the people that we love.  He was then very concerned about seeing Auntie Mandy, so we made sure to invite her over for our guest on Valentine's Day.  And he helped me pick out a very special nail polish and candy for her.  Hadley was quite exhausted from after lunch and passed out on the floor playing.
Audra is very into trying on everyone else's shoes these days.  She especially likes to put on daddy's.  And on Wednesday I took the kiddos to the doctor, to check their lungs and ears.  They all have been hacking up a lung.  Of course the entire time we were at the doctor Hadley did not cough and instead chatted and smiled at everyone in sight.
We also went to Costco to get some groceries and Gavin was very excited to find glow in the dark Star Wars gogurts!!!  When we got home he found my Bible on the counter and was reading to me from Matthew.  We have been working on memorizing verses with him, so he was reciting his verses to me.  Random story, on Sunday after church Kevin and I were working on our Bible Study and Gavin was sitting at the table working on a puzzle.  He heard us discussing and yelled out, "the Bible is TRUTH!"  We then were discussing what he had talked about at church that morning and he just kept repeating "the Bible is Truth!"  So when he was preaching to me the other night he kept throwing, "the Bible is truth" in there too.  And then when Kevin got home he sat down on the couch and was reading the Bible with daddy!  Love that!  We may have a preacher on our hands.  Hadley fell asleep in the swing with her hood over her eyes.  And Audra is working on a new fashion statement, stickers are the new hair accessory.
Thursday Audra took her turn being the sicky.  She was out of it most of the day and didn't leave my lap most of the day, also so very unusual.  If this tells you anything, she sat in my lap long enough to clip her fingernails, toenails and to paint both?!  What that never happens.  I'm usually lucky to clip a nail or 2 at one time.  I hope my babies get better soon.  I do definitely love all the snuggles, but its sad to see them not feel good..
And that has pretty much been our week.  not too much, just a lot of lazy days, snuggling on the couch.
